Truth is, our recent 36 hour absense from the web was due to a recalcitrant hard-drive which has now been banished to the scrapheap. Hopefully, it will be plain sailing for a while. Unfortunately, our entire OS had to be re-installed and many settings may have changed without our even being aware of them. Certainly, our SPAM filters have been reset and email was blocked totally for 36 hours so many incoming messages will have been lost or delayed.

It's like when you stop banging your head against a brick wall!

There are, of course, still things happening in the autosurf world, but none of them concern us too much any more.... The big ones have gone and for our part, it is only 12by12 Daily that we are surfing daily. For their part, things are apparently completely back on track. We have received all payments due (within 24 hours of stated due dates too!).

Hopefully, they will keep going long enough to restore some faith in the industry.

SuperNovas are great to watch but don't last long....

Following hard on the heels of last week's bombshell announcements by both NowDollar and AlienTrust of their closing, today, ProfitSwinger announced that it was 'resetting' its database.

As so often in recent past, PS says that it has a plan to repay spends of existing members. Since we have never seen so much as a plug nickel from all the others, we'll be expecting the same here: Nada!

At the same time, we have been barraged with the latest spate of Marketing Miracle products and 'powerline' building programs that promise to make you millions overnight. We are guessing though that you, like us, have yet to make those millions. The basic problem behind all these offers is that they are being offered by Marketing 'Gurus' or List Mogul 'Heavy Hitters' who can bring hundreds and thousands on their coattails. Even though we have been around the 'Net block once or twice, we are not ready to join these 'me too' rat races....

Probably, like us, you are ready for some REALITY!

Of course, it IS exciting to get caught up in the whirlwind of these great new launches. However, when the dust settles, the 'average guy' ends up at the back of the line, having spent a small fortune only to watch a few pennies dribble in.

The truth is that you are MUCH better off having 10 cheques for a $1000 than a single cheque for $10,000. If one of your 10 programs dies, you still have $9000 left. If your one $10K income stream bites the dust (as it surely will!), your ENTIRE income is gone.

   It is an unfortunate fact that most people are drawn to those things in life that shine the brightest. And yet, much of value is hidden behind a thin veil that many don't take the trouble to pull aside. Any of us who have been watching the autosurf story play out recently will realise that $500 invested into Global would have been a MUCH better investment than putting it into ANY of the major programs over the last couple of months.
   
   Once again, the secret here (unlike most autosurfs), is that Global has a very visible and verifiable income source. Of course, the bricks and mortar portion of the program could fail but since it already has some decent history behind it, this is not likely...
   
   
   
2. InvestPlace:
   Yes, this program has had a bit of a checkered history but it HAS withstood the test of time. There are still some members who feel that IP is somehow responsible for the losses incurred when IntGold, StormPay and EMO all froze funds, outright stole them or simply collapsed.
   
   Perhaps InvestPlace did not necessarily handle the situation in the best way, but they also have not closed the door completely on the possibility of paying out any recovered funds in the future. For this reason, all previous records are still available in back offices.
   
   Since relaunching just a few weeks ago, IP has revamped their rates of return to be more reasonable and we have already successfully made withdrawals. Although this IS a more traditional HYIP style program, we feel that it is more secure than most and deserves a spot in a well-balanced portfolio.
   
   
3. 12by12 Daily:
   This is the only autosurf left in our portfolio. Even though we do not discount the possibility of joining others in the future, at present we have no plans to do so. We will maintain our account with 12by12 however. We have just received our second cycle payout and true to our strategy, have now removed our initial spend.
   
   This one is now 12,000+ members strong and within just about 20 days you can be in profit like us. Here's the strategy using $120 as an example:
   
   Divide your spend into halves. Spend $60 and start surfing. On day 7, spend your second $60. When your first spend is paid out (approx. day 19), respend ONLY your profit $24.
   When your second spend expires, respend ONLY your profit.
   
   Now you can contiue to surf and as long as the program lasts, you will have ongoing income with nothing at all at risk. We have successfully used this strategy with NowDollar, AlienTrust et.al. and thus have been somewhat insulated from the shockwaves. It HAS put a dint in our earnings though! That is why we prefer the programs above which are more stable!

Two more nails in the coffin of the Pay4Surf industry this week.

• First, AlienTrust announced that its sale to an interested party had fallen through. Although the excuse was that the new owner was refusing to guarantee either payments to existing members or the continuation of the program, the reality was that the existing business model did not generate enough funds to pay members.
  
  
• Within 24 hours of the AlienTrust bombshell, Lance Barron, the owner of NowDollar, despite protestations to the contrary just a week or so earlier, announced the closure and sale of his program to the very party who had eschewed it recently.
  

Of course, many autosurfs have come and gone in the last few weeks but these were two of the largest and most respected. There is now a HUGE credibility gap and many small players will now desert the playing field.

For us, the only program left that holds any promise is 12by12 Daily and for the meantime, this is the ONLY program left on our Recommended Pay4Surf Page. Although our strategy limited our losses in any of these programs, we have not made any real money in autosurfs for the last couple of months.
