Most of us believe, somewhere deep in our hearts, that she really exists.

And yet, when cooler heads prevail, most of us also understand enough of the basics of the laws of physics to know that it is PHYSICALLY impossible.....

What does this have to do with making money on the Internet? Well, just about everything! The Internet is a totally closed system. Money cannot be created, it can only be transferred. Nothing physical is ever created or destroyed. We simply transfer funds from one virtual account to another based upon some perceived possibility of future value, imaginary OR real!

The only way that value can be 'really' added or created is by transferring money out of the 'virtual realm' using it for some valid purpose that causes it to grow and then transferring that increased value back in again.

Some programs actually function this way but, in our experience, very few! Let's not forget also that this 'transfer' of funds from the virtual to the real world is laborious, sometimes lengthy and above all costly. As a general rule of thumb,
assuming that the majority of programs do NOT generate funds in
the 'real' world, there are only 2 possibilities for generating funds to make payouts to members:

1. Use incoming funds to pay current liabilities. This works ONLY as long as incoming spends are greater than current payments to members. Of course, with time, payments due MUST, sooner or later, exceed income. This is when the program crashes....
   
   
2. Generate income by 'investing' or laying off funds into other programs that are offering higher returns than our program. This way we can even keep the difference. Only problem is, the program we are investing in is either a Type 1 above and will run out of funds or is doing the same as us. Eventually though, the Top type 1 program (12by12Daily - 12DailyPro) will falter or crash and all the type 2 programs will come crashing down with it.
   

So, how do we chart a strategy to take advantage of this knowledge? There are principally 3 things that we can do:

1. Place the bulk our money in as many programs as possible that can be 'seen' to generate funds outside of the Internet HYIP and AutoSurf arenas.
   
   
2. Only go into Type 1 programs that are in the early stages of their life cycle. Recoup our 'seed' money as quickly as possible and then consistently draw a portion of profit on an ongoing basis.
   
   
3. Look for Type 1 and Type 2 programs that have a fast cycle time. Programs that offer returns over periods of 90 days or longer have a LONG period of collecting funds without having SERIOUS payouts. By the time a large number of members are ready to start making withdrawals, the owners and admins have absconded with the money!

My wife often describes herself as a 'computer widow'. When we went cruising recently from Miami to Key West and Cancun, she got to see more of me than usual for two principal reasons.

The truth is: Most HYIP and Autosurf programs ARE ponzis!

We ALL love the idea of being able to log into a given High Yield or Pay4surf site and watch our money grow and make a DAILY withdrawal....

While reading through a fellow Canadian's weblog (micronuts) today, I came across this passage, which describes, as well as I could, how I personally feel about the subject:

Of course many of us know that most of the HYIPs, surf programmes, MLM programmes, matrix programmes, are just ponzis. 99% of them are.

This HYIP (High Yield Income Program) Just sent me $100 from 2002!

This program resurfaced a few weeks ago and sent me a message to that effect. I went and checked out their website and thought no more about it....

You can imagine my surprise when they sent me another message today saying that they had just credited my account with $100+ for products (shares) that I had purchased in 2002.

Now, I don't know if this program will actually get off the ground this time around, but I do remember that they had a BIG following in 2002, when unfortunately, I got into the cycle way too late. So far, the software values have been climbing at about 10% every 10days (30% per month). If this goes the same way as 2002, it will be a good way to make a few bucks. Personally, I will let my $100 ride until it doubles and then pull out.

The only drawback here is that the minimum purchase is 5 units. Currently, unit price is at around $17, so $85 is your minimum spend.

Truth is, our recent 36 hour absense from the web was due to a recalcitrant hard-drive which has now been banished to the scrapheap. Hopefully, it will be plain sailing for a while. Of course, it IS true that some MAJOR players have crashed and taken a LOT of people's money with them. Still, there ARE some programs that have both been around a while AND are not the normal same old same old.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the majority of HYIP programs, in spite of their protestations to the contrary, do not really invest your money at all. They simply take new money to pay off older spends and skim off the top. As soon as incoming funds can no longer keep up with maturing spends, the program closes and the owners abscond with a heap of cash....


It is our conviction that NONE of the following programs fits this mould described above. Of course, that doesn't guarantee that they will be around forever either.

Of course, InvestPlace has had a bit of a checkered history, but how many of the current plethora of HYIP programs can boast that they are at least 1 year old. That fact alone puts Investplace above the crowd.

With terms ranging from 9% for one month to 33% monthly for one year, there is also a wide range of interest rates available.

This is our second program that has been around over 12 months (over 24 in fact). Once again, the key here is that they are not offering wild interest rates and thus do not attract huge throngs of members. The members that they do have tend to stick with the program and allow their account to build slowly.

Our own account will be one year old in just a few weeks. Frankly, it is having accounts with programs like this one that just keeps on ticking that keeps our morale up when the 'big' ones go down. We continually take a portion of our profits from the riskier ventures and move them into lower paying but safer programmes like EGR.

It may seem that this program is the 'odd man out' and to some degree this is true. Firstly, the program has only been around a short while. Secondly, it offers a fairly high rate of return - 50% after just 10 days. Thirdly, we have only been in long enough to have our 1st spend mature.

We consider this a high-risk venture! However, we set aside about 15% of our total portfolio to invest in just this type of program. If you are one of those who have been waiting for FantasticPay to re-open to new members, I'm afraid that you are going to have to wait just a few days more. Much is currently going on behind the scenes to be able to start monthly payouts to existing members.

Good News - Bad News this week! Like most things in life, YOU decide on how you react to it!

First The BAD News:

SolidInvestment: True to form for the industry and according to the predictions of most, the SolidInvestment site finally disappeared yesterday leaving owing many thousand investors many MILLIONS of dollars! Like many others, we lost too, but only $350 and only because we didn't stick to our own advice and allowed our funds to be switched to the 'Special (read: too good to be true) Fund'.


Wealth2U which we were hoping to be our replacement for SI also appears to have disappeared. It is quite sad when a program that has been around for 18 months finally disappears, but WE are not ready at that point to start yelling the 'S' word. Many made a great deal of money in this program and others like it. Moreover, all except the Ostriches knew the risks they were taking.Only lost $20 here which we really consider as break-even...


And Now the GOOD News:

InvestPlace: Another bright spot in an otherwise lacklustre arena, IP has bounced back after licking its wounds from the February triple bombshell unleashed by IntGold, StormPay and EMO. Although former members will probably NEVER see their monies lost here, there is finally a chance that the program will survive and allow them to at least make money again going forward.


EGold Revolution: This has been a quiet solid performer in our portfolio since August 2005 and has been going for 2 years. Not many programs can say the same. Sure, it doesn't offer to double your money overnight, but we put a moderate amount a year ago and have made steady withdrawals and now have an ongoing annuity!

Over the last few weeks, we have watched several of the programs that we considered solid falter if not crash completely. In this category we place VascoInvestment, InvestPlace and Private Opps. The first two have not yet been declared yet, but there seems little doubt that they are among the walking dead

As always, there are some bright spots. In this business, if we focus on the negative, it will soon bring us down ourselves. When we become involved with ANY program, it is with the certainty that, sooner or later it will fail. The only question is whether we can profit before it does. In the case of InvestPlace and Vasco, we are well in profit. With Private Opps, we were not so lucky. On balance, we generally come out ahead because we follow some solid rules.
