Skype is not Hype! FREE N. America calls until Dec. 31st

Why pay for long distance when you can get FREE calls?

Paying for long distance has been a thing of the past for us over the last couple of months. At least for North America. Also, since Skype has the largest network of subscribers, you can make IP2IP (PC to PC) calls free of charge to any other user regardless of their physical location.

Installation is a breeze and the only equipment needed is headphone and speakers. If you prefer to use a more familiar handset, you can pick up a Skype-compatible phone at most electronics store for a very moderate price.

Our own NetJunkie Club is promoting Skype as a way to stay in contact and plans to hold on-line meetings using this VOIP technology.

If you have not yet joined the VOIP revolution, what are you waiting for? Our own Skype Username is w3junkie. We look forward to hearing from you.... image

BestFreePhone - Can-Talk is gone! Skype fills the void! 2006-10-04

FREE ip2ip calls worldwide OR to landlines in North America! image

Imagine our surprise when we discovered yesterday that our VOIP provider has vanished into the ether. A little investigation shows that it was part of a larger network operating out of Marbella, Spain and has been dodging bullets for some time.

We were only involved with the VOIP telephony side of the business and, on the whole, had positive experiences with this, except we never received the incoming number that we had paid for. We had sunk a fair amount of resources into building our own website and FREE International call network and had almost 200 members. Alas, it was not to be.

The Silver Lining!
If we just look hard enough, there is ALWAYS a silver lining to be found. In researching an alternative, we have selected Skype as the successor to Global VOIP. Their base is much more solid and their rates are just as good. Better still, they offer a MUCH wider range of add-on services and are supported by a much larger number of equipment suppliers. If you want to use the service over broadband using POTS (Plain-Old-Telephone-Service) equipment, you can easily do so.

We have already redirected our domain to point to the Skype main site, so feel free to take a look at all the bells and whistles that Skype provides.

FREE calls throughout North America until Dec. 31st.
This is the best part. Even calling to regular landlines or cellphones is FREE for the balance of the year. The only equipment that you need is headphones and a microphone. The FREE software phone download is simple and straightforward to install.

Get Skype Now and join our FREE network!

Two lines for the price of NONE! 2006-05-21

Don't miss out by locking into a single VOIP service!
Did you know that you can easily have two or more outgoing VOIP lines from a single computer. And ALL at NO COST whatsover. Since most VOIP networks allow you to make FREE calls to members of THEIR network only, it makes sense to join more than one network.....

Another advantage of having multiple VOIP networks active on your computer is that fact that you can take advantage of the cheapest rates for long distance and international landline calls. ALL networks are NOT created equal and thus you can save even more money by using the particular network that offers the cheapest rates for the destination that you are attempting to reach.

The only requirement for this functionality is to have a softphone that allows multiple networks to be active. In the backoffice of your BestFreePhone account, you will find downloads for two different styles of softphone, both of which allow multiple networks.

Compare rates between networks and you wil find that although BestFreePhone cannot claim to ALWAYS have the best rate to EVERY country, you will be hard-pressed to find a better combination of features and low cost calling plans.

Get a FREE BestFreePhone account today and join the VOIP revolution.

BestFreePhone VOIP News 2006-05-06

Three NEW reasons to join the VOIP revolution

Three new features have recently been added to BestFreePhone's service that increase its value to its FREE subscribers.

  1. New FREE softphone can convert handheld PC to FREE IP phone:
Although Express Talk will likely remain the first choice for most of our members due to its wide range of features and ease of setup and use, the new ofering by SJLabs will be of interest to those with handheld PCs.
Within the next couple of weeks we will give a full report here of how we fared setting up and trying out this new entry. In the meantime, you can get your FREE download from your member's area

  2. Unlimited calling plans to countries of your choice:
Although BestFreePhone remains committed to offering FREE service without monthly charges and the lowest per minute international rates, we appreciate that some users have higher than normal long distance calls to specific countries. For these users, we now offer unlimited calling plans for a very competitive flat monthly fee to most countries. Again, to get full details, simply log into your account and follow the 'promotions' link.

  3. Incoming Numbers for almost ANY country and area code of your choice:
For a very moderate fee, you can have incoming calls that are local for area users and which are redirected to your phone or computer. This means for example that even if you live in Australia, you could have callers from London, UK, call a local number which would then ring at your location in Australia. This would be both a local call for the originator and also totally transparent. They would believe that they were calling a phone located in the U.K.

There are 2 distinct benefits to this: Firstly, you are able to have a business presence and contact number with minimal expense in countries of your choice. Secondly, you can allow local callers to contact you without charge. This is great for both businesses and families.

If you have not yet discovered the amazing advances in ip2ip telephony, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You need NO special equipment other than a computer with headphones and speaker. However, there are also inexpensive USB handsets available that simply plug into a spare USB port and then behave like any normal phone.

Simply click the link to set up your own BestFreePhone account.

I was SO impressed, I bought the company

I know that we have been strangely silent for the last few weeks but it was not due to lack of activity. We did take a
quick trip to Europe but otherwise have been busy trying out new things...

We didn't actually buy an ENTIRE company, just a small chunk of a larger network!

What on earth am I talking about, you may well ask?

I am sure that unless you have been like an ostrich with your head in the sand, you are aware of the VOIP revolution
that is taking place. A couple of years ago, I tried ip phone calls from my laptop when I was travelling and was
less than impressed. Based on previous experience, I stayed away from all the hoopla that has arisen lately.

However, with the bulk of my family being spread out 'across the pond', and the bulk of my business being in the US, you can imagine that my long distance bills were NOT getting any smaller. Then I came across a site that said that I
could not only talk for FRÉE with my overseas friends and family ip2ip, but I could also reduce my regular landline
long distance to a mere fraction of its current size. I thought that I would give it a try.....

Account setup was FRÉE and no special equipment was needed other than microphone and speakers. Software for
operation was also at no charge and VERY easy to configure. The REAL surprise came when I made my first call - to my own landline. My wife, (who didn't know I was calling from my computer), was totally oblivious to the fact that I was not calling from another POT (plain old telephone)! I have since had lengthy calls to various parts of the world and
the service has been without static or interruption. VOIP has indeed come a long way!

An additional benefit of this particular service, unlike most of the popular ones is that there is no setup fee and
no standing monthly charge. Calls to most countries are 2-3 cents per minute and even the more exotic locations like
Barbados, where our best previous rate was 38c/min is now just 12c/min. Of course, I have started getting my friends
and relatives to set up frée accounts also! That way, there is no charge for us to talk as long as we like.

Incidentally, you can also set up an incoming number in almost any country of your choice so that even on landlines,
incoming calls are frée for local users even though the call will be routed to your computer, wherever you happen
to be...

Should you decide to set up your own account at the site below, you can call us at 98293164@sirexsip.dyndns.org.
Provided we are in earshot of the computer, we will answer. Within a couple of weeks, we will have an incoming UK
number that we will use.
